Courtney and Michael are avid travelers and wanted to capture their Smoky Mountain engagement photos while on their annual camping trip with their pup, Theo! Their sweet love and admiration for each other made this engagement session so much fun! Courtney described her vision for their engagement session as romantic, elegant, and playful and she really wanted to have a variety of shots that capture the beauty of the landscape around them but also some intimate close-up shots that truly just focus on them and their connection. I was so excited to help her bring this vision to life! I had so much fun getting to know these two and creating their dream images and crafting an experience for them to make memories that will always go along with their engagement photos.
A Few Logistic Considerations To Remember When Planning Your Smoky Mountain Engagement Photos:
If you’re including your dog, be sure to plan your photos at a location that is approved for dogs. Dogs are not allowed on trails or in many of the heavily populated locations of the National Park.
Always check the Smokies Road Info webpage for updates on the latest road closures. On the day of Courtney + Michael’s engagement session, we had to navigate many road closures throughout the National Park due to ice on the roads so having a backup location was a must. Always hire a photographer who is a CUA holder with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The National Park does not permit photographers who do not hold an up-to-date CUA to conduct photography sessions within the National Park. This is for the safety of the Park and for you as a couple. Your CUA holding photographer should be very familiar with navigating the National Park, knowing approved locations, and being familiar with the rules and regulations that are in place to keep you and the National Park safe.
